About The Soundscape Studio
In a world increasingly dominated by screens, notifications and constant visual stimulation, moments of calm have become harder to find.
Sound has the unique ability to shift our attention, influence emotion and immerse us in an environment in ways that visual experiences alone cannot. The sound of waves moving across a shoreline, wind through a forest canopy, or birds calling at dawn can transport us to a place, evoke memory, and encourage a sense of presence.
The Soundscape Studio was created to harness that connection.
Using field recordings captured on location, we create destination-inspired audio experiences that reflect the character, atmosphere and rhythm of a place. Through bespoke soundscape albums and wellness audio collections, we help hospitality, wellness and travel brands create experiences that foster relaxation, wellbeing and a deeper sense of place.
Founded by composer and producer Ryan Sanders and creative director Lisa Michele Burns, The Soundscape Studio combines expertise in destination storytelling, field recording, photography and creative production. Together, we document unique environments and translate their character into immersive audio experiences and creative assets designed to inspire, immerse and connect.
Whether developed for a luxury retreat, hotel, airline or destination brand, every project begins in the same way: by listening.
Our Approach
Each project is developed through a three-stage process, ensuring every soundscape reflects both the character of a destination and the objectives of the brand it represents.
FIELD RECORDING
The process begins on location. Through careful observation and environmental recording, we capture the sounds that define a place, from natural soundscapes and wildlife to subtle atmospheric details that contribute to a destination's identity.
PRODUCTION
Recordings are then curated, composed and refined in the studio. Drawing on the rhythm, atmosphere and character of the environment, we create bespoke audio experiences designed to support relaxation, wellbeing and a deeper connection to place.
INTEGRATION
Completed collections are delivered in formats tailored to their intended use, whether as in-room soundscape menus, wellness experiences, branded audio assets, guest amenities or destination-inspired inflight content. Where required, projects may also incorporate supporting visual assets to create a cohesive sensory experience.
